TLR Soul Ratings®

About the Ratings

The Leesburg Review is determined to answer a question recently posed to the editor: Does Leesburg have a soul? By “soul” we mean both character and culture, places and events and gatherings that have or will imbue our fair town with a spirit and life all its own. Just who is trying the hardest, and succeeding, at creating a convivial center, at drawing a critical mass of beings and brightness to Leesburg’s heart? We’ll examine that question in detail, and also slap a rating on various ventures for good measure.

The exclusive TLR Soul Rating® employs scientific inquiry (ie soul-searching) to determine a precise grade for the soulfulness of various entities as follows:

TLR SOUL RATING®
0 - Soulless
1 - Some Soul
2 - So-so Soul
3 - Mo' Soul
4 - Serious Soul
5 - Soul-Full

Note that not everything covered in TLR can be rated, because it may literally be too far away to have any impact on Leesburg's collective soul. Similarly, that distance may cost a soul ratee a grade or two, even if he, she, or it have mucho soul. Got it?
